#33-"Stomp" a 1996 urban contemporary gospel song by God's Property featuring Kirk Franklin and Cheryl "Salt" James

"Stomp" changed everything musically....when it came out in 1996 the Christian world stopped to listen. From the introduction of the song by Kirk Franklin himself, you knew you were in for a treat:

For those of you that think gospel music has gone to far. You think we got too radical with our message.
Well I got news for you, you ain't heard nothin' yet,
and if you don't know now you know, glory Glory!!.

And it didn't disappoint. Whereas in most decent Christian songs, we are expected to sit down and hear how good the voice of the singer(s) is, "Stomp" was just once of those songs that invited you to join in on the fun/worship/singing. The best part was the
"GP, are you with me?"
"
Oh yea we havin church and we ain't goin nowhere."

I didn't know any of the words to the song other than when to say "STOMP" but that was all I needed to realize that Christian music had the potential to be cool. It brought out the rhythm in even the most nonrhythmic of white people.

To top it off, it had "Salt" from Salt-N-Pepa in it!
