#36-Hearing that there are four kinds of love in Greek and God's love for you is an "Agape" love.

Sometimes it comes in the form of a seminar. Other times it comes from a very eloquent service. But more often than not, once it is discovered, it will be scattered here and there throughout that preacher's sermons for the rest of his life:

"It" is the fact that while the English language only has one word for love, in the original Greek which the New Testament was written in, there are four different kinds of love: Agape (unconditional love), phileo (friendship love), storge (family love), eros (attractive love). And with that in mind we quickly find out that God's love for us is not just any ordinary love, but rather His is the most powerful kind of love, the "agape" love.

Never mind that a strong case can be made the the words for love in Greek are not as differentiating and intentional as the preacher made them out to be (agape and phileo love are used interchangeably in several places in the bible), when the preacher speaks such a message as discussing the different kinds of love, we suddenly feel we are linguistic geniuses in the making.
