#2-John Legend/John Mayer

So this one may be more for the Apostolic female population, but Apostolic youth have a strange infatuation with John Legend/John Mayer.

If there is an awkward silence in a group of Apostolics, all one has to do is bring up one of the two Johns and everyone's eyes will light up and immediately people will chime in with their favorite songs by the aforementioned artists.

Never mind that John Legend's lyrics are overly sexual and drenched in descriptive accounts of actual sexual activities that will inevitably inspire lustful thoughts in many teenage girls, he sounds like a gospel artist so he must be good. And besides, John Legend has that one song about missing God so that makes everything okay!

While John Mayer seems to be a little cleaner, I love when Apostolic males justify their infatuation with Mayer by claiming that he is a really talented musician. Just like all Apostolics love Princess Bride as their non-offensive favorite secular movie, John Legend and John Mayer is the secular musical equivalent.

  1. I don't think it's fair to compare John Mayer to The Princess Bride. John Mayer would never have a career as a pirate, or as a spanish revenge-seeking swordsman.
